Corker’s cough syrup

February 21, 2009

According to Bob Corker:

Corker told business leaders in Knox and Anderson counties that he believes some major U.S. financial institutions are insolvent. In a morning meeting at the chamber, he advised the Obama administration to decide whether to take significant steps in dealing with troubled lenders or continue parceling out money to keep them from going under.

I think we ought to take our medicine, personally,” he said.

“Take our medicine”?  Thanks for the advice senator, but voting for the first Bush stimulus plan, as you did, proved to be a 78 billion dollar waste going to banks like Citigroup and AIG.  The great bank bailout was just a similar delaying of bank failures as what you describe.  You’re a late night faucet that’s got a drip.  You can quit your histrionics and grandstanding now.
